Chinese state run media lauds border meeting between India and China

india-chinese-meetPeople’s Daily, a state-run Chinese daily has underscored the efforts made by India and China in managing their border dispute. The newspaper has lauded the meeting between the PLO and the Indian Army which was held in the Daulat Beg Oldie area in northern Ladakh.

According to the newspaper analysts say the meeting indicates “China and India have made great efforts to safeguard border stability, and that their bilateral ties are getting warmer in many aspects.”

On August 1, 2015, the Chinese People’s Liberation Army (PLA) hosted an Indian Army delegation in the Daulat Beg Oldie (DBO) area along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Ladakhsector of Jammu and Kashmir which was the location of a threeweeklong tense stand-off between the two armies in April 2013. The Indian delegation was led by Colonel BS Uppal and the Chinese delegation by Colonel Song Zhoanli.

The spokesman of the Defense Ministry of India had said on the occasion that the ceremonial border personnel meeting (BPM) on the occasion of PLA Day was conducted at Chinese BPM Hut in Moldo Garrison in Chushul Sector of Eastern Ladakh.
