The minister credited the launch to the PM Modi’s aim to make quality drugs available at affordable prices for common people. He also instanced through a report of the National Family Health Survey 2015-16, saying about 58 percent of women aged between 15 to 24 years use locally prepared napkins, sanitary napkins, and tampons.
The holistic initiative that takes into account 3 aspects
Women (Suvidha) -8th Mar
Hygiene (Swasth) – 28th May
Nature (Swachhta) – 5th Jun
The market is not affordable sanitarily for the ladies from the poor strata. Rs thirty-two is the current average price of four sanitary napkins in the Indian market. And in this situation when the Government launches these oxo-biodegradable pads priced at Rs 10 for four pads for health security of women, especially for those who are underprivileged and are in rural areas, it is an admirably memorable welfare move by the Indian Government.
